Editing
The Editing Committee is charged with the editing of all official NCTA publications, both hard copy and web pages, with particular emphasis on grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and style rather than actual content. While the editing committee does not edit emails or the association’s newsletter, it does make every effort to ensure that any other material representing the association, especially material representing the annual conference, is well-written.

Mentoring
The Mentoring Committee partners new members with experienced professionals (mentors) from similar educational settings and position responsibilities. Partnerships provide an avenue by which new members/professionals can learn from the expertise of experienced professionals. The mentoring committee assigns mentees to mentors throughout the year as new members join NCTA. At the annual conference, this committee facilitates both a mentee/mentor meeting prior to the welcome reception and arranges "Dinner Groups" in the evenings.
Professional Development
The Professional Development Committee provides professional development opportunities to the membership and explores avenues to increase professionalism in our field in addition to reviewing and updating the NCTA Professional Standards guidelines. The Professional Development Committee is also responsible for presenting a session at the NCTA annual conference which is of interest to the majority of the membership and relates to continuing education in the testing field and/or the development of professional standards.
Recruitment
The Recruitment Committee works to expand the membership of the organization through outreach, design of materials, and collaboration with State Testing Associations.
Sponsors and Exhibits
The Sponsors and Exhibits Committee works with NCTA's corporate partners to promote sponsorship at the annual conference. The work includes establishing levels of sponsorship, recruiting potential sponsors, and soliciting financial support for the organization. Additionally, at the conference this committee sets up and coordinates the annual Exhibitors' Fair.
Technical Services
The Technical Services Committee is charged with advising the Board on technical issues. The chair and members also work closely with the NCTA Webmaster in maintaining both the NCTA and Consortium web pages.
Test Center Certification
The NCTA Test Center Certification Committee was formed in 2007 to develop procedures leading to voluntary certification for college and university test centers. The committee has reviewed the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines and selected the Standards that will be used to evaluate test centers wishing to be certified. In 2009, a pilot project involving 10-12 test centers was initiated and is progressing in stages. As of Fall 2009, the committee is evaluating the first group of applicants and has mailed the application to a second group of applicants. After the pilot project is completed, a proposal will be submitted to the NCTA Governing Board for approval and implementation, and the process for seeking test center certification will be made available to college and university test centers staffed by NCTA members.
